| | Habitat for Humanity and the One
Foundation invite you to join us as part of a team of 200
volunteers – including One Foundation’s founder Jet Li! – building
in Zhuyuan Town, Qingchuan County, Sichuan, China from September 2
- 5, 2010. As a HFH‐OF Builder, you will work alongside others from
around China and the world committed to ensuring families in need
have a decent place to call “home”. This special effort will mark
the final Wenchuan Earthquake housing reconstruction project for
Habitat for Humanity, and celebrate China’s unprecedented effort to
meet the needs of Wenchuan disaster victims and help provide safe
and prosperous futures for the families of Sichuan. Working with the Sichuan
Province Qingchuan County Government and Zhuyuan Township
Government, HFH China will partner with One Foundation to organize
a post‐disaster home volunteer build, improving the living
conditions of 120 families, 334 persons affected by the May 12,
2008 Wenchuan Earthquake. |

| About New Hope BuildHFH will join the Zhuyuan Township government in
completing a final phase of post‐disaster reconstruction, by
helping construct simple, decent, affordable homes for the 120
dislocated families in a new site at Zhuyuan’s Liangshaba village.
The site development and public facilities at the relocation site
will be financed by the local government, and the cost of
house‐building will be composed of government post‐disaster
construction subsidies, family self‐financing and a contribution
from Habitat for Humanity. The New Hope Build project site is slated to
break ground in late June of 2010, with construction completed
before the end of 2010 so families may move into their new homes
prior to the 2011 Spring Festival. Habitat for Humanity In ChinaHFH China was established in 2000 to address the
need for decent and affordable housing. It has offices in Kunming,
Guangzhou, Nanning, Chengdu, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Habitat for
Humanity primarily works in rural areas in China where homes are
often made of unsafe structures. Jet Li One FoundationThe Jet Li One Foundation, under a strategic
partnership with the Red Cross Society of China, works
independently to build a sustainable, professional, and trustworthy
foundation platform to encourage social sector development and
bring out mass participation in philanthropic giving and
volunteerism. |
